Project Description
Bodily Structures of Consciousness
2026
Material and technique: digital print and laser engraving on plexiglass
Dimensions: scale model 10 × 20 × 20 cm (H × W × D), scale 1:7.5; proposed dimensions of the spatial installation: 75 × 150 × 150 cm (H × W × D)
Structure: 15 panels inserted into a transparent plexiglass or glass enclosure suspended from the ceiling.
The work presents magnetic resonance images of the brain’s vascular system as a contemporary (self-)portrait, reduced to a biological and impersonal condition. Transferred onto transparent supports, the medical images become light-based, sensory forms. By transforming neuroscientific data into a visual and bodily experience, the work questions how scientific images shape our understanding of the body, identity and perception.
