Project Description
Extended Vision
2024
The group exhibition Extended Vision, bringing together works by twenty Slovenian artists, addresses themes of perception and seeing, optical illusions, and dispersed or sensitized perception. The light-based spatial installation Ferocrystals (2014), presented in this exhibition, consists of a series of spatial images derived from technological microscopic recordings of nanoparticles within crystallized structures of magnetic fluids. Digitally and laser-processed images of microscopic samples reveal the invisible order of material structures at the nanoscale, while, as material reproductions on plexiglass, they generate sensory, dematerialized bodies that extend into space through projections. The installation implies a moving viewer, as the surface textures shift depending on the viewing angle.
